Purpose and importance of recruitment for an organization.

What is the purpose of recruitment?


In recruiting it is inevitable to discover new applicants and hiring them for available vacancies raised within the organization, on the other hand effective recruitment should be in a perfect flow, by making sure to conduct successful recruitment campaigns constantly and making sure that recruitment makes a positive impact towards an organization. (Talenteam, 2022)

Apart from traditional purposes of recruitment mentioned above, there also few other purposes or we can define them as objectives of recruitment,

-          To create a pool of job candidates at low cost.

-          To evaluate effectiveness of various recruitment techniques.

-          Getting an idea about applicant’s diversities.

-          Creating a positive impression for the organization, where many applicants are be interested in applying to the organization.

-          Will help to decrease the rate of short term employee turnover.


The main purpose of recruitment is to identify potential candidates and ensuring that the people which they recruited are a perfect fit for the available job role and it will help reduce staff turnover and increase the work efficiency of the organization.

Why does recruitment is important for an organization ?


“Acquiring the right talent is the most important key to the growth of a business.” (Bennioff, n.d.)

The successfulness of an organization is measured mostly by their achievements, business numbers and resources which they possess, it is mostly reflected to society by the employees of the organization, in order achieve expected goals and achievements in the long run, an organization requires,

-          Skilled & Qualified employees.

-          Highly motivated and loyal staff.

-          Better management and decision makers.

Therefore an organization needs a better process identify,

-          Skills.

-          Loyalty and compatibleness of a candidate, a recruitment process is very important for an organization.

Therefore the recruitment process is also important for,

-          Avoiding operational conflicts raised when employees are suddenly leaving the organization.

-          Increase the credibility and portrait a better impression towards organization.

-          Gaining access far more talented candidates.

Recruitment is a very important process for both organization and human resource management as well since it ensures that the candidate who wishes to join the organization is perfectly compatible to organizational culture which would and also recruitment process is the most important process in the organization where a great first impression regarding the organization is created in candidate’s mindset upon the first meeting. (Vagale, 2023)



General point of view regarding the purpose and importance of recruitment for an organization.

The sole purpose and importance of recruitment is to find right employees for the organization which would benefit the organization in the long run. It is much important to give a clear picture about the organization and also the expected outcome from the employee to the organization. Since the first impression lasts and it is the first step that employee starts the trusting link with the organization, which would be a trust factor between the employee and the organization.

When employees feel that they have opportunities to grow and develop their skills, they are more likely to be engaged in their work and satisfied with their jobs. But employee retention becomes a challenge when there are limited opportunities for career growth. Not all organizations are structured to provide these opportunities to employees. This can lead to low productivity, creativity, and turnover. However, employees who feel valued and appreciated are more likely to consider staying with the organization , which can save businesses time and money on recruitment and training costs.
